The capital city of two states Punjab & Haryana bordering Himanchal Pradesh and having a close proximity to the Indian National Capital Delhi, Chandigarh is a business gateway to Northern India. The strategically planned Industrial Area is located at south-eastern side of the city, in the leeward wind direction to minimize air pollution within the city and bringing it close to the railway station and the national highway for ease of business and un-crowding of the city. Only non-polluting industries are permitted within the industrial area, segregated by a green belt of mango trees.
